Dr. Rick Robinson
Independent Board Certified Optometrist
Dr. Rick Robinson, O.D. is an honors graduate of Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida receiving his Doctor
Of Optometry in 1999. He also received specialized eye care training and advanced practice skills while in the United States Air Force. Dr. Robinson
remains an active member of our U.S. Air Force Reserve as a Lieutenant Colonel and Flight Commander at the Optometry Clinic located at Macdill Air Force Base in Tampa, Florida. He purchased this practice which was the very first to open in Vero Beach and has significantly expanded its range and level of eyecare to our community. He has established himself as a specialist in the areas of diagnosis and treatment of ocular diseases, contact lens evaluation and management, dry eye conditions, computer vision eyestrain conditions and pediatric vision disorders.
Dr. Robinson was born and raised in West Palm Beach, Florida and upon graduation from Optometry school spent over 18 years in Naples, Florida.
He is a professional pilot earning the highest level of FAA certified training in aviation as an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP). Besides flying airplanes Dr. Robinson enjoys martial arts and is a third degree blackbelt in Iaijutsu. He is very happily married to his wife Judy and truly enjoys as much free time together with her as possible. He is also a very proud father of three well accomplished sons, Eric, Ryan and Marc Robinson.
Eric Smith
Licensed Optician
Eric Smith is a Florida Licensed Optician who has served the St Lucie and Indian River Counties for over 20 years. He was born in Fort Pierce and is passionate about supporting the local community. Eric has worked for many years with the Lions Club, and serves every summer at the Florida Lions Camp in Lake Wales. Born legally blind, Eric had to have eye surgery and wear glasses by the age of three. He not only has highly technical expertise in optics, but also the personal experience and empathy for the vision challenges other people face daily. This unique combination gives Eric special insight into his patient’s eyewear needs. Eric is a proud husband and father who enjoys spending time on the water with his family.
Michael Fliehs
Michael Fliehs is a Florida-Licensed Optician with over 30 years experience in Optometry. He was born and raised in Palm Beach County. Michael began his Optometry career at the young age of 19 under the careful eye of his beloved father, the late Dr. Donald Fliehs O.D. who owned a successful private practice for 58 years. Michael has been a High School football coach for 22 years and has a lifelong passion for helping to give people the gift of sight.
